I've seen it done using a cutoff wheel in a 4" angle grinder. After cutting the edges were deburred with a file. Went pretty quick.Originally Posted by mike malone
Several options
1. Offset aviation snips
2. Sawzall with 18tpi bimetal blade
3. Jigsaw with metal blade
4. Kett 18ga. double cuts
After you cut through the seam watch out for the vicious fish hook that is left
I cut it twice and it's still too short
Thanks fellas...will start with the Sawzall, first.

Jigsaw (Festool of course) with a metal blade, then a quick cleanup with a file. I clamped the pipe when cutting it. Everything worked quickly and well.Originally Posted by mike malone

I work with that spiral pipe all day long.
Sawzall, fullface protection, gloves and hearing protection,WHAT DID YOU SAY?, I have lost about 50% of my hearing from the construction work I do. After it is cut take a file to it and clean up the rough edges.

Yes, that is definately a requirement. More than once I have had metal chips hit my (protective ) glasses.Originally Posted by Mike Mastin
Use a Jigsaw! It'll provide the cleanest cut, and the safest process.
