    Cool Nova DVR XP "New To Me" Lathe

    Thanks for everyone's input on my previous post. Attached is a photo to show that it actually did happen.

    Nova DVR XP Lathe
    Bed extension
    Outboard turning attachment
    Stronghold chuck with an extra set of jaws
    3 tool rests
    Jumbo jaws
    Bowl steady
    Spindle steady
    Shop built stand with 6 bags of sand

    $1200

    She may be dirty but I believe she has a few bowls left in her. Looking forward to Saturday!

    Gene, congrats on your new baby, it's a great lathe, has plenty of power, torque, and runs so smooth, glad to see you have added some ballast (that's the only thing that lets the nova lathes down slightly (lack of mass!)) but that's nothing a few bags of sand or pea gravel can't sort out!!!
    hope you have years of turning pleasure with it, unfortunately mine went pop and expelled a load of smoke just a couple of days ago, but up to that point I was HIGHLY delighted with it, and would not have even thought of replacing it with any thing else (still a great lathe in my eyes!!!)
    ohh and don't worry, I have somewhat of a bad run of luck with lathes, they seem to wait until they are out of warranty and then commit suicide on me, this is my 3rd lathe in 8-9 years that's done it to me, they just hate me I'am sure of it!!!

    Get that wood spinning and enjoy yourself Gene!
