    Japanese Garden Bench

Just completed a garden bench for my local Relay for Life silent auction. Plan from FWW and built from Cypress. Nice project, all mortise and tenon joinery(screws for seat slats). Took about a week and a half worth of evenings. Now I have to clean up and sharpen the hand tools for the next project.

    Nicely done.

    I love Cypress.
Will this receive a finish, or be left as it is?

I'm going to leave it natural. I will let the new owner choose what they want with the finish. Planning to put together a little information packet on cypress and finishing options etc. so they can make an informed decision. Not everyone is familiar with the species or what to do.

That's a pretty bench - very impressive. I know I'm a slow worker, but that still seems quite fast to build it.
