    Cermark on China Plates

I am struggling with the Cermark for tile/glass. Attached is a picture of a plate I did for a Client and I am not happy with the results. I used 20% speed and 45% power (this was the best result I got after a lot of playing.) Is this the kind of result I should expect?

    Thanks,
    Mike

This is not nearly enough power for a 40W...

I always check with the manufacturer of these chemicals for suggested machine settings. They are not always a 100% accurate due to variations of one thing or another but they are usually pretty close and it will save you a ton of time and waste of product.

In defense of Mike....... I think he did..

Recommended Starting Point for Settings CO2: 30-50% power (35 watt laser)
    10-25% speed
    500 DPI / 500 PPI
    YAG- 10-20 watts
    10-20 inches/sec speed

You might want to check these guys out. The system is fairly expensive to get set up, but they will do one ups
in full color reasonably priced. These images are permenant! Even full sun outdoors. Similar process to photos
    on tiles for cemetaries.

Haven't had a chance to use them yet, but this is one of those things you file away til the day a client comes
    and asks for it!

I tried the settings from laserbits where I bought the cermark. 100 power and 28 speed. Turned out horible. I then dialed the power down 10 percent at a time while keeping the speed slow. I got down to 45 or so and that was best. It also meshed best with the cermark posted settings. The client loved it but I want a better result. I will keep trying.

    Thanks.

Yeah I had to adjust the setting they suggested a bit in order get it as black as possible. I was lasering the blade of a steak knife and while it got darker and was acceptable to the customer I found myself wanting it darker. It still seemed sort of gray to me.
