    Walnut live edge bowl

After a long lull in turning, I'm finally getting back into it. And having fun!
Here's my first attempt at large, cross-grain, black walnut bowl.
I absolutely LOVE the colors on black walnut.

Didn't do a great job on the photography, I'd need a photo-booth to do a better job.
My wife is a painter and just setting up for her first show, so the house is in disarray, with paintings everywhere.
She inspired me to get my butt in gear again.

It did develop some small cracks during drying, but they are small and I managed to hide them decently.
    Its about 10" h, 14 - 18" dia. Lacquer finish.

I managed to keep all the bark on, except for where the branch came out sideways. That part was up to the arborist.
    C&C very welcome.

Beautifully done, you've definately got everything that piece of wood had to offer out of it.

Now that's a refreshing look at a NE bowl. I like how the edge kind of undulates. Nice color also. I have some walnut but too much white in it.
