    Something to note regarding PNG.

    Photoshop's "8 bit" is really 8 bits per channel. RGBA = 4 channels = 32 bits.

    It's a little misleading
    I design, engineer and program all sorts of things.

    Oh, and I use Adobe Illustrator with an Epilog Mini.

    Another point, which I recently learned, is that with JPG files you can not make the background transparent (e.g., white box around it or any other background).

    Yes that is true, I tend to use TIFFs for that as most my software recognizes it, sometimes PNGs do wierd things....
