It was a great day at the 2013 Detroit Area Woodturners annual Turn-A-Thon (picknic) We had lots of good food and three lathes going all day. One of the members brought two very large walnut logs and I left with a good size chunk.
When I got home, I chucked it up and roughed it out. I'll get back to it in the morning.
What a great day!!!

Looks like a good time, Dennis. Can't beat turning out in nature! If that log is still wet, I'd give you chuck shot of WD-40 and put a plastic bag over the blank to keep it from cracking
