    Patters for dovetail saw handle

The closest thing that I have been able to find online to a template (ideally a CAD drawing) for the style of handle that I want was on backsaw.net. They have a great photo gallery with scaled grids overlaid but I am looking to take it a step further and find some CAD drawings that I can quickly manipulate to tweak various areas to my hand.

I have settled on F. Constantine Sheffield 1856-1900 style as my base line (http://www.backsaw.net/cpg/displayim..._display_media) and have identified all the radii and their centers using dividers and paper which I can transfer to the wood, but a CAD drawing would make life easier from a pro-typing standpoint.

Are there any sites out there that may have been buried beyond the first 6-pages of google results for "dovetail saw handle pattern" that contain CAD drawings?

Lee Valley use to have a pdf of a cad drawing of their dovetail saw handle on their web site that you could download. Not sure if it is still there but I have a copy I could send you if you're interested. PM me if you would like it.

    Great resource for patterns: http://www.tgiag.com/saw-handle-scans.html
Scroll down to get to the backsaw handles

I also have a few nice Kenyon ones that I got from Wenzloff. Let me know if you'd like me to mail you copies.

Finally, Tools for Working Wood has the patterns available for their handles on their site. IIRC the links are found were they list their saw kits.

Woodworking is terrific for keeping in shape, but it's also a deadly serious killing system...

The basic design for my back saw used the template in the .pdf for the Tools For Working Wood dovetail saw kit.

First a mock up was made in a scrap of pine to match their drawing. This gave me a feel for where I wanted to make changes. A copy of the template was marked up and used to make my handle.

Here is the link full of tote making fun:

Backsaw.net also has the patterns for a variety of saws.

Yup, that is the one! Thank you for that file. I had started modifying a file sent to me by someone who will remain nameless but having this one will allow me to overlay the two to ensure I get it just right, and tweaked for my hands.

    thanks again!

David, I apologize for my post. Clearly, I didn't read your post as I was rushed. The 'Constantine' pattern looks like a beauty.
