If you were here in Kansas, you might wait a few weeks. It was 109 degrees here yesterday.

Finally had a chance to put the mill together this weekend, just need to break in the power head a bit more before mounting it to the mill. I should be milling next weekend.

I start milling this weekend Double end bar is now mounted to power head. To give you an idea of overall length, the saw is sitting on an 8' bench.

Lordy, that's a monster ! My back hurts just thinking how much it plus the mill weighs.

Mill is now together and running. Forgive the shaky video, I had one hand on saw, other on throttle.

Good stuff!! I've got a "tiny" 30" mill. The most important thing is the chain and how sharp it is.

Can you tell us what chain you're using and how you're grinding it?

    Thanks,

    John

We had an hour or so to mill today and cut a couple more slabs. These two slabs have some spalting, curl and medullary flecking.
