    Shellac & Wood Alcohol

Can Shellac flakes be disolved in Methenol/Wood Alcohol?
I know there are some dangers with wood alcohol, but does it dissolve the flakes like denatured alcohol??

    Thanks

my guess would be yes. so would a bottle of gin, but i'm not sure i would want to use it. my worry would be about how pure it is....don't want any water in it etc......i would buy a gallon of denatured alcohol fo 2 bucks and be safe

Dave, this would be a good question to post in the "Project Finishing" forum. There are some real knowledgable people that hang out there!
