    Antique Sander

I was browsing eBay and came across this interesting tool. Evidently, it's an antique sander. Item #4383531930

What a hoot! Oh well, like Einstein said - "Imagination is more important than knowledge."

good thing they put it in the "other tools" section - wouldn't want to get it confused with a plane

Hmmm. I forgot to check if he had other items for sale. Probably has a specialty axe: the kind with a long, flexible metal blade with a serrated edge. They're designed to split wood in a very controlled manner.

Wonder what he'd call it if you gave him a piece of sharkskin?

    Marc,

Don't bother. I checked the other items, which run heavily to Judy Garland records and old magazines featuring Bette Midler and Liza Minelli, etc. Not that there's anything wrong with that!

I was browsing in a used book store the other day and came across a woodworking book that described scrapers as being designed to totally replace sandpaper
