    Needle cases

Our club had an exhibition and sale of our turnings last year in which
I made one needle case among a few other items.

One lady from a nearby quilting club pounced on it and before I knew
it three other ladies wanted one each. I made six and they sold
immediately with a further order of twenty, then another twenty.

I finally made 71 of them and they all sold.

My secret was to insert a 3mm rare earth magnet within the base cap
with a thin layer of wood and then rubber glued to it. This allowed the
ladies to place needles within the case, tip them out as required, then
pick them up if necessary by touching them with the base.

As someone once said, "Necessity was the mother of invention"

Cool idea. Never thought of that but those would go well with the seam rippers I just made. I do sell a lot of those as toothpick holders.

Never put off until tomorrow what you can do the day after tomorrow.
