    WHY??? would anyone want to put a "SELF CONTAINED BIOREACTOR SEPTIC SYSTEM" in their BASEMENT???

    Because the ground around the house is unsuitable for regular septic. That's why they did it on that house.

    I think that was the house in New England that was quite rural and the land the house was on was mostly granite under a thin layer of soil. The had to blast just to bury the power lines coming to the house.

    Did it power anything as a cogenerative system?

    I've visited three Swedish towns that did the same thing,
    all lines necessarily heated through Winter, and the "Town Gas" used to
    power street lights. Effluent discharge was miniscule by NA standards.

    No way it would get built around NIMBY resistance in Taxachusetts.
