    Walnut vase

This is the best of several pictures I took of this vase. The reflections caused me some grief even though the surface has not yet been waxed. Vase is 13-1/2 inches tall. The wood has a lot of character with some spalted sapwood and some nice figuring in the heartwood. The form has a more gentle curve than I usually turn for this shape. Finish is WOP (too wet lately for lacquer). Comments and critiques are welcome.

Nice job Dennis. I really like what looks to me like flames coming off the swirls on the left side.

  4. That is a pretty form Dennis! I like the collar treatment you gave it...........just enough to enhance the form without distracting from the flowing curve. Gotta love that grain! Nicely done!
