Newport Desk Announcement, and a Thanks

I posted my Newport Kneehole Desk in April, and the comments of my SMC friends were favorable.

    http://www.sawmillcreek.org/showthread.php?t=19366

I was encouraged by you guys to submit it to the Readers Gallery of FWW.

Well, last Saturday’s mail included a postcard from FWW saying that the piece had been “accepted for possible publication in the magazine or on our website. . . . Please note that due to the volume of material we receive, you may not hear from us for a while –in some cases up to a year.”

So guys – Thanks for the encouragement. It is exciting to have been accepted for possible publication. I wonder if, should they publish it, I can put a link on my website to the online version of it. I guess when they call or write, I will inquire on that point.

This will be the first time that I will have been published, assuming that the word “possible” does not come to pass. A collective crossing of the fingers would be appreciated.

    Alan,

WOW! Way to go! It's no surprise that your masterpiece was selected for publication. Now we just have to wait for it to be published so we can start bugging you for an autographed copy.

    Congratulations!

Alan, that is great news! Your Kneehole Desk is certainly worthy for publication! I’m looking forward to seeing it in FWW.

Outstanding Alan, and congrats. You should be quite proud, of the accomplishment and the piece. I'll also cross my fingers.

Ohh, ohh! When that FWW comes out (notice I used the word "when", rather than "if") can I send you a copy and get your autograph?

Congratulations, Alan! I consider it an honor to be able to exchange thoughts and ideas with a WWer of your caliber.

I want an autograph too Alan! Congratulations. Publication will be well deserved...I don't see how they would flinch.

Alan....I'd have dropped my subscription if your piece hadn't made FWW. That desk is one of the most outstanding projects I've seen! I'm not worthy to hand you your tools! Congrats! Excellent work! I want an autograph too!

Alan---Congrat's on hearing from FWW. I can't think of anyone more deserving of such an honor. I hope your students know how lucky they are to have you for an instructor.

Alan, I'm positive your desk will make the pages of FWW. Your desk is as fine a piece of craftmanship as any of the pieces I've ever seen in the pages of FWW.

Lookin forward to seeing it "sooner" than "later".

And you'll be getting my copy for a signature, also. Then I can say "I knew him when".
