These aren't actually scratches per say but sort of grooves. There is no actual break in the finish (or scratch). They are in cherry panel and frame wall paneling in a stairway on a yacht. There are about three, maybe 3-4 inches long and they have a slight depth (or groove) to them.
The steam iron on a damp towel wouldn't work would it? How can I repair these? I'm thinking if I sand and recoat about 3 times I could get some fill and leveling in the grooves. What do you think? I tried Old English and it didn't really do anything, except on a couple nicks. It probably works when the finish is actually scratched. Thank you for any suggestions.
