Pretty slick how you put the quarters together!

I wonder about the mind of people who can produce something like this, even after seeing the video it still seems a mystery.

    Thanks Stan.

I was also pretty amazed how they snapped together - it didn't look obvious how it would work when the pieces were laid out. Pretty cool, thanks for sharing.

I also liked the simplicity of your dust collection shroud for those deeper pieces. I've been looking for an alternative for my X3 Cobra dust collector.

What a great concept! I've made a sphere before, but I was not nearly that clever.

You say you used 2x4 stock? Did you double it up to get the two inches thick?

From past cuts I knew going through aspire that it was going to be a deep cut, so bit length ,dust collector clearance, hold downs and speed was my concerns. Bit length was scary but now I have ordered some longer end mills and the dust collection was OK but needs some mods(again). The wood piece I used was so dry free of knots the machine cut it like starfoam. The wood was 2 1/8 thick and I dressed it just under 2in. It was a surprise how it fit,i could not see the finished ball till it was done
