Apple wood pot with copper lid and Cocobolo knob

I rough turned this small closed form Apple bowl a few years ago, it sat in the shop and I picked it up a few times to finish it, I didn't because I found that the size and shape called for a lid.

Not having a piece of wood that would look right with it, I kept putting it back, finally thought that a copper lid might go with it, and so I finish turned it and then went to look for a piece of copper in my saved copper pile, (small pile)

First thought of spinning the copper, but it somehow didn't appeal to me, and then I decided to hammer it into shape, spun just the edge to have it sit flat and make it circular, then turned a small Cocobolo knob and fastened that to the lid with a small SS screw.

This was the outcome, It got confiscated as soon as LOML laid eyes on it, found a place in our hallway

Any and all comments welcome as always

Sorry for the less than perfect pictures, the photo booth is still not done and it was not easy making pictures with all the reflections of the wood and the copper lid

The copper lid is perfect for this piece.

Nice combination of pieces, Leo. The copper lid really makes that bowl.

Very nice Leo , the copper is spot on , I understand when the LOYL gets a hold of something special and it becomes hers ... ha ha I did a Claro Walnut box with aluminum knob, both haveing ornamental work and no sooner done that it appeared on her vanity ..... and here I was ready to sell it ....

Very nice. I can understand why it has already been claimed.
