Gotta love Lee Valley

I was just blown away with the package that arrived today from Lee Valley. They put cardboard angles at the bottom and top of the box and strapped the box horizontally and vertically. The box arrived in pristine condition as did everything inside.

Lee Valley is already known for their tools and excellent customer service but I just had to post on how well they package as well.

You seem to be like the child who gets a gift and plays with the box and wrapping. Glenn seems more interested in what arrived in the box. Why don't you keep the box and ship all the contents to Glenn. It's a win-win situation.

That is actually a pretty bright way to protect the contents, and I can't imagine it adds much to their costs. I wish more shippers (Amazon, are you reading this?) would follow suit.

People have a natural tendency to use those plastic straps as handles. They aren't designed as handles and often break. My experience is those plastic straps tend to break when a package is mishandled. Metal straps are much better, but they are more expensive and harder to apply so they are rarely used except on very heavy items.
