    Bandsawing Cedar

    Hi
I've got a question for all the band sawyers out there.
I want to resaw some cedar but want to maintain the rough face.
Will a wide and coarse blade give me that finish?
I've got quite a bit of cedar stashed in the shed and if I could cut it down
on a band saw and still maintain the rough face, it would save me enough money
to buy the band saw to do the job.
Other wise I'll have to go buy some cedar at the dimension I need.
    Any advice would be appreciated!
    Thanks
    James

The band saw will give you a rough sawn appearance, although it won't necessarily match the texture of the original milled surface. What I'd probably do is put the resawn faces outward to give you a consistent appearance.

    Thanks Rob for the reply
I was also wondering if there will be a saw mark on the wood?
