    Shop Build Info Needed

I am looking for a good resource for wood working shop design.

I am primarily a hand tooler at this point of of necessity. I would love to have more power tools and may have an opportunity in the next few years to build a shop.

I am looking for big picture stuff i.e. Building size: Floor material: Electrical/lighting needs: DC: layout etc:

Can you recommend a good book or other resource?

    Thanks

    Mark

One BIG thing to keep in mind is what the next owner of the property will do with the shop you build. I built a shop at previous home and it did not add to the value received from the property. Big loss, but then I got 7 years of enjoyment. My latest shop was built with the idea that it could also be used for a garage to increase the appeal to more. Finishing out the inside also helps with heating which might be an issue up in MI. My last shop has a gambrel roof with engineered trusses to allow for a 10'W x 4'H section that I decked out for storage using a heavy duty attic stair. No matter what you plan on, it will not be big enough unless you really dream big or know what you want to do in future.
