Looks really nice. With the pith in the side wall I hope you can keep it from cracking. It looks good raw, I think it will be spectacular when finished.
Looks good so far. I haven't run into any Plum, but that looks like it was a sizable tree. Be sure and post the final piece. What are your plans for the green turned piece at this stage?
Fantastic piece of plum and a nice shape for it. Being a fruit tree and very hard wood I would take every precaution to prevent cracking--Now.

Tom, its in a brown bag with shavings, keeping my fingers crossed.
I use japanese plum and it moves moves moves if turned green. Thin enough and it won't split at least that is what I've found here on the wet coast of BC.
