    Wine Glass Holders

This is a couple of wine glass holders that I did on my CNC. A local vineyard holds concerts on the grounds and these will be on our table. The wood is alder and birch and the engraving is filled in with coffee grounds and CA glue, then sanded smooth. The only finish I put on them is a paste made of bees wax and mineral oil.

Thanks for the comments, they are appreciated.
John, I have been using coffee grounds for years to fill in voids or knots in turnings that I have done. I just take dried, used or a cheap brand of fresh grounds and put them into the engraving. Kind of pack them down, and then put CA glue on it, as much as it will soak up. Let it dry and then sand smooth. Sometimes, you may have to go back and fill in some spots and repeat the process. It's an excellant inlay material and is easy to do.

Very cool coffee ground idea. I would submit that to shop notes and Wood magazine. Even if you never invented it I sure have never read it and its time it was republished and get you a tool and a check. Very cool idea!
Glad its my shop I am responsible for - I only have to make me happy.
