Which 220 outlet should I install?

Well, we got the house listed and are in the process of packing up. Haven't packed the shop yet, but I did take down my heater as it's going to the new house. I had it hard wired 220 on a 30amp (dual 30 amp breaker) so now I'm left with exposed wires. They're not hot, but the realtor said I should put a plug on them for inspection purposes.

Went to the store and noticed there's are different designs. Yes, it may not fit the new home owners needs and they can replace it, but is there a "universal" one out there I should look at? Thought about just capping them and tucking them in a box too.

    Thanks!

I'd cap them so the new owners can figure out if they need anything there and if so, they can pick it out.
Do or do not, there is no try.

I'd go with a standard dryer outlet.

I would put the wires in a 4X4 junction box, cap them off, and put a blank cover on the junction box.

Agreed. If you just cover them over, buyer will assume there is nothing there. A 240v outlet might not be much, but it might appeal to someone.

I'd throw a NEMA 14-30 outlet in a 4x4 box on there as long as you have both a neutral and a ground.

If you only have 3 wires, go for 10-30.

That way there's no confusion about what it might be and it'll make the inspector happy.

Thanks for replies y'all! I like the idea of capping and letting the new owner decide. The shop is listed as having a 220 so he knows what he's getting...
