Looking for Article By Toshio Odate - Makite Portable Planer

I am trying to locate an article written by Odate some years ago where he discussed 'tuning up' the knives on a 4" Makita portable planer. One aspect of it was about rounding the corners so as not to create ridges, but I know there was more than just that. I am sure it was not in FWW, if anyone can tell me what mag and what issue I'd appreciate it.

There's a set of crowning plates for sale in our Classified section.

I have to wonder if a camber would be just the ticket for passing one of these over a large slab.
I have an innate reluctance to use something like a power planer.

    They're unforgiving.

If you're flattening a large slab, a router sled is safer and more predictable.

I've cambered the blades on a Makita handheld. It's not much trouble to do and the blades aren't any trickier to re-install with a camber as opposed to straight. I've never seen the article. I surface slabs with handheld planers.
