    Hannes Quick Coring Tool

    Has anyone had the opportunity to use the Johannes Michelson "Quick Coring " tool ? Looking for the Pros & Cons

    haven't used the Hannes tool, but it looks like it's pretty much going to cut similarly to the straight knife in a McNaughton coring set. I do use that straight knife on occasion for slicing platter blanks from a core and for coring - very rarely on very steeply sided blanks. It does look as if it allows you to brace it well against your body and it looks to be a quick setup, but I prefer having the tool rest/turret take that strain for me.

    Yup, it is a long straight parting tool. I am too cheap and want rounded bowl shaped blanks rather than cones.
