    Cube pattern

My wife is a teacher and would like me to make some cubes about 2" x 2" .I am going to put numeric place values on .When they roll them they will have to add the values together to help learn place values.
Does anyone have a cube pattern i could use.I saw one somewhere that used the living hindge and looked like it would roll nice for them.
    Thanks Jim

    Jim,

I think I have a cube pattern at home, though it is made with finger joints rather than a living hinge. It will be quite a few hours before I get home this evening though. One of those weeks in the office you know.....

I will check tonight when I get home and see if it is still needed. I suspect someone else will help you before then.

    Jim,

I just sent you a box pattern to your email. See if that will work.

There are a couple possibly useful box-maker extensions available for Inkscape:

    Foldable (built-in under 'Render')
    Tabbed: http://www.keppel.demon.co.uk/111000/111000.html
    Living hinge: http://www.reidb.net/LaserLivingHinges.html

Kern 400W 4'x8' HSE with metal cutting add-on and rotary stage
2-axis CNC mill, 2 manual mills, 3 lathes, other standard shop tools, . . . and a 7.5 MeV tandem Van de Graaff particle accelerator

I use this site to make cubes, works great. Just round all edges on a sander to make them roll nice.

I would make them out of 2x2"s on the table saw and round the edges a bit with the router.
