I managed to find the time over the holiday to begin cutting out an archery bow on my ShapeOko (hobby-level CNC).

Unfortunately, the machine lost steps about halfway through, so I had to kill the job (this has resolved my getting homing switches).

To finish up, I roughly cut out the stave and now I need to finish it. I bought a bottom-bearing 1/4" flush trim bit, and made a router table/insert to clamp to my folding portable workbench, but there are some places which the bit isn't going to fit. Can't justify a 1/8" flush trim bit for this, but do have a 1/8" bit which Is long enough that I could have the shaft bear along the same surface as the bearing by flipping the workpiece over --- would that be likely to burn the wood?

What speed should I set the router to for ipê?
