...I think I am at least heading in that direction.
And this is just what I plan on keeping.
(BTW...my wife and I blame all of you all.)

I am never wrong.
Well...I thought I was wrong once...but I was mistaken.
No combi planes? No 45, 55, or at least 50 goodness?
Not to mention a 98/99 pair, or a tongue and groove set.
You have not yet begun to collect!

It's time to start collecting carving tools (good vintage ones) and really complicate things.
My god man.... You better use them all, or have lots of kids
Harold,
Looks like you are off to a good start.

Well that about covers every one.(BTW...my wife and I blame all of you all.)
. . . however . . .
Don't try to tangle me in your sinister web.
I have pretty much always said :
- I have almost no use for my two jointer planes (though I like to look at them).
- I can do about any bench planing work from a box to a dining table with the three planes shown (including thicknessing from rough and jointing the planks into one board).
PS: nice stable (of planes) you have there.
and
truth me known I have a whole bunch of planes just to have and admire them and fool around from time to time. Well I fool around more often than that . . . most of the time . . . actually . . .

I just realized . . .
you don't have ENOUGH hand planes (or you are hiding them in the closet)(that's the case here isn't it ? You got 'em but you aren't showing them).
Bevel up. You need jacks, jointers (to look at you understand), smoothers . . .
The little blocks are nice but there is a whole new world out there for you . . .
(or is it in your closet ?)

Harold, how old is the #7/8 on the far right?

Is it poetic coincidence that the Holy light is shining on the BU jack?
I like your little Stanley Bullnose. But I'll wager it does its best work posing for photos.
