This is a slab of purpleheart I am working on for my coffee table. It has been fun working with this piece. I have sanded the one side up to 12,000 grit micro mesh to start and applied one coat of Sam Maloof´s finish. I had three checks to address that I chose leopard wood to use for the bowties. One on the bottom and two on the top. Purpleheart is not easy to chisel! After I finish the bottom,I will move on to the top using the same routine. What do you think?
