    Laser going South

Hi, I am looking for some input. I have a 7 year old 30 watt GCC LaserPro Explorer II it’s been a real work house for me for the last 7 years but now it seems to be failing. About six month ago I had to put in a new power supply for the electronics. Now I have to slow it way down to get it to cut through ¼” acrylic. I have kept the lens and mirrors clean over the years. I checked the mirrors last night they all look good, but the lens is looking like it may have some minor damage to it. My guess is the laser tube (Synrad) needs to be recharged and maybe a new lens. I am just wondering if this is just the start of other things going out and if I should just replace the whole laser with a new one. Looks like parts are harder to find now for it to. Thoughts?

I think you've nailed it. I believe it's worth repairing. I recently sent my tube to Photovac in Grove City, Ohio for rebuilding. http://photovaclaser.com/?page_id=2
