    Thanks for the input. Our electric is so removed from where the shop is it was over $1000 to have the 220 run in to the shop....we wanted to put a hot tub in, too I really like Grizzly's J/P combo, and had a great experience with the G0490 when I owned it.
    If you are the home owner, you can DIY to have 220 and have it inspected. It is not difficult. Get a 30 AMP double pole breaker matching your main panel or sub-panel, run 10-2 wire to the location, then you can buy hammer.
