    Maple Bowl

I was told this is Big leaf Maple. Not sure, but boy did it turn out nice and has some amazing grain. Finished it in Odie`s and will polish it up later in the week. Bowl is 10.5" across and 4 1/2" deep. Any helpful comments on style and different edges or bottoms are welcome.

Nice bowl, I like maple, it works easy and looks good. I like simple bottoms but I think you need to make it look like a bottom and less like a tenon. Maybe bring the curve of the bowl up to the tenon and then cut the tenon down to just a small ring at the edge and make it flat across. I usually put the type of wood on the bottom and always my name. I like the style of the rim and it looks like it is thin enough. Well done.

Beautiful wood, and a good job on the bowl's curve. I agree with Fred that the bottom is too much like a large tenon.
