LV Plow Plane Blades in a Stanley 45

Are the LV plow plane blades usable in a Stanley #45. I think I heard/read somewhere they a little short, so not a much wear. I'm thinking of getting a 3/4 in. blade to round out my small assortment of blades for my 45. A shorter wear life shouldn't be a problem for me; a 1/4 in. of wear should be plenty.

You remember correctly Richard. I had contacted LV when their plow first came out and they confirmed they would fit a 45 but with about 3/8" of usable life.

Blades for a Stanley 45 are often available on ebay.

Item 281531336165 looks like a good one for ~$9, BIN w/shipping.

Though the LV models would likely not need sharpening when new.

Record multi-plane irons will fit too. You can always find Stanley or Record on ebay.
