    Rick, turn the base round to center it. Glue on 2 rings and then turn the inside all the way and 80% of the outside. Then glue on 2 more rings and repeat until all of the rings are glued on. :-)

    I noticed you used a board across the rings to put pressure from the tailstock onto the rings???
    This will put uneven pressure on the rings and it would be better if you made a round 3/4" ply backer board to put the pressure on the rings. In fact if you made the backer board on a threaded glue block with 1/2" spaced little grooves that will allow you to centre the rings really well. If you have the tailstock adapter to allow this backer board to be mounted on the tailstock then the whole process is easy.
    Stick your next ring to the backer board with a few dots on hot melt glue and face off the ring on the lathe and then move it to the tailstock and glue it to the rings you already have on the bowl as you are building it up.
