    Craftsman Coat Tree

At my work, I had a little plastic hook that hung over the cube wall for hanging up jackets and things. Well unfortunately, it broke. So, rather than going out and spending another $3 on a coat hook, I decided to make this.
It is solid walnut, with oak pegs in the base. The base is 2 pieces that are connected with a half lap. The post is a double mortise & tenon going into the half-lap joint. And the curved braces are connected with glue and dowels. The top 8” or so is tapered above the hooks. The hooks were purchased from Home Depot.
Finish is 3 coats of Arm-R-Seal in gloss, and one coat of Arm-R-Seal in satin, followed by paste wax.

It looks meaty, rugged, utilitarian and I love it. I especially like the large hardware and the shapely column. It's got real personality.
