    Table top connector questions

I am making a small table to be used as a tv stand. It will be 3' long. I will be using either z-clips or figure eight connectors to attach the top to the aprons. How far apart should they be spaced? I read somewhere that figure eight connectors should only be used at the ends (parallel to the grain)? Is that corrfect? Since z-clips are not fastened to the aprons would they be preferable since they could be used all around the table, not just the ends?

Either are fine. I use figure 8's at the corners on the tops of the side aprons (so the 8 is parallel to the expansion direction front to back).

I usually add turnbuttons on the front and back aprons with elongated holes front to back.
