OT: New Old Stock B& D Lids Off Jar Opener

Found one of these still new in the box . Left over store stock still was sitting on the back of the shelve in the store collecting dust all these years. They don't make them anymore and the original sticker price is on it. Question is this...

What should a customer offer the store owner for one of those , considering they don't make them anymore and it's been sitting on the shelve all these years ?

Assuming it doesn't gain value like an unopened Stanley plane or something, I'd offer half of retail. Basically cost.

There's one on eBay with a $23.98 Buy It Now price. It looks like ~ $20 is the average.

Right - check for a second one - maybe sequential numbers?

When I started woodworking, I didn't know squat. I have progressed in 30 years - now I do know squat.
