That's a pile of shavings for sure!!
I'm sure the chickens and dog appreciate it.
How do you clean up that mess? I use a snow shovel to get the bulk of the bigger shavings and follow up with a shop vac. Spend about as much time unclogging the hose as I do cleaning though.
Wood Porn Alert! Wood Porn Alert!!!!!!!!!
Where are the rough outs? Did you get so carried away you turned them down to nothing?

Daryl, I use an old grain shovel to clean most of it up and then use a shop vac. The shovel is next to the door in the picture. James I had already put them in paper bags to dry.

Jack, you are pretty precise on placing all the chips to one side of the lathe! You know we need to see the pat that's left now don't you? :-)
Quite a mess. I have shower curtains hanging around my lathe to "drop" the shavings in a more controlled manner and reduce the chips/shavings that accumulate on the flat surfaces. Lots of nice curls. I don't have a coring system and know what you mean by all the shavings.
You are having too much fun, Jack!
