Scratch Built 16" Cedar Strip Canoe

Hi all I'm new here to SMC and thought I would share my Cedar canoe build; I finished her (Serenity) last fall.
I'll post some of the construction and the finished canoe.

I cut my own strips from 18' decking boards then routed in the cove & bead; I made the form from OSB the inner stems were glued up 1" pine. The plans were from the internet, I used the 1" grid pattern to draw them to the OSB.
It was originally built back in the 40's out of redwood for $80.

    I hope you like this,

    Bruce

Awesome Bruce! That's a lot of work and a beautiful canoe. Nice steam set up too. Will you post some pix if the finished work? Maybe more paddling pix? Again, welcome to the creek.

Oh yeah, those Chris Craft boats are awesome. It would be a great project.

BTW - I love the "hand of the maker" on the front of your canoe.
