Laguna Mobile Cyclone 2HP

Anyone have any experience with this? There's a thread on its bigger brother (the 3HP), and smaller brother (1.5HP). One comments on the size (height) of the cyclone. Are these effective collectors and will they separate fine from coarse dust well? Is 2HP enough? The ad claims 1450 CFM.

Hi Jeff, the normal concerns with a short cyclone like that is separation efficiency.

The other concern is that there doesn't seem to be a system curve available for it?

Without that you'll have no idea whether it will do the job...............Regards, Rod.

Its too bad about these and their JDS cousins. Both companies are normally better than the reviews of these low profile cyclones reveal. I still respect the Laguna and JDS names but, these units are on my "I'll pass" list. The amount of spoil in the post-canister bag is huge and quite coarse. I have never had that much spoil past the cyclone stage of my unit (not Laguna). In 6 months of use I get about a 1/4" cup of talcum-powder fine material after scrubbing the filter with the built in brush.
