Thread: Hand Woodworking Show 2015

  1. #16
Malcolm, I can't imagine anything more enjoyable than the Lie-Nielsen July event in Maine. I'm going to try for that next year and bring my wife along since I think it would be a blast for her too. I've been to many LN hand tool events, WIA a few times, and Handworks both times. Just watch the video from this year (on their site) with Roy going around to the vendors schnooring tools because its the decent thing for them to do. Hilarious! Tools and lobsters in Maine. Come on!

I keep hoping that my travels will somehow coincide with an event somehwere, but not yet.
Maybe it is time to consider changing the travel planes.

Hmmmmm.... Most recent travel: St. Kitts, Cayman, Bahamas... I have no plan to change!!! It's a tough job, but somebody's gotta do it.

People seem to forget that the Studley tool chest was on show just twenty minutes away. Possibly the last time it will be available to the public.

This was a great opportunity to add on to the Great Handworks event.

    A couple more pics

Included Studley's workbench and a bench with Studley type vises and some cast pieces from the toolchest.
Fascinating to look at and the bench in the last pic was free to touch and play.

WOW. I would have loved to have seen the Studley exhibit.
