I need to cut a piece of .020 Alumamark to 13.5 x 10.5".
All I have a 12" table top metal shear, any suggestions on getting the material cut.
Would a local fabricator be able to get a nice clean cut?
Thanks

Cut it 10.5" and then slide that through and cut the 13.5" measurement. On a 12" shear, you can cut 12" x 100 ft if you wanted to.

Maybe I'm missing something...
The material comes in a 12 x 24 sheet.
If I cut to 10.5 I would then have a 10.5 x 12 piece, too small.
If I cut to 13.5, I cant turn to get 10.5 due to the 13.5 is too big for the shear?

If you can find someone with a strong enough laser they will be able to cut it for you.
Good luck!
Cut it down 13.5" and then cut 10.5". Flip. Finish your cut. Should be okay after a little careful sanding. Otherwise just about any metal fab place should have a sheer capable of cutting that.
In the future, you should be able to ask your supplier to cut it down for you. I also think Alumamark is way overpriced. I've always used JDS LazerBlak and I've been relatively happy with it.

Hi Russ,
After I to 13.5, how do I get it into the shear to cut the 10.5?
See attached pic of shear

I must have a mind block Russ,
The opening of the shear will only accept a max of 12"

I know you said your shear's opening will accept 12" max, but did you measure the opening or is that number coming from the shear's documentation? The Accucutter shear, even though it's a 12" shear, will actually cut up to 13.5". I don't know about the one you have as it looks like an Accucutter knockoff.

Thanks Brian,
I just measured the opening, it is indeed 13.5 but the beginning of the blade sits in about 1/2"
It looks like If I take the ruler off It will work...Have you done this?

I've cut 13.5" plates on mine before, but I don't have to take the ruler off to do it. The blades on mine (Accucutter 2001 EVO) are actually long enough to cut a 13.625" plate without removing anything. That's a bummer - yours coming in short like that. I would have thought they would be the same.
