    Home Made Sharpening Pond

Sense I didn't get any raving reviews (plus cost) on the Veritas sharpening pond, I went ahead and made one. Now it's off to the hardware store to get all the stainless fasteners.

Every time I see the phrase, "sharpening pond," my brain immediately brings up pictures like this:

and I find myself wondering, "How can you sharpen anything in that?"

Looks fine, and, I bet, cheaper than a commercial one.

I made on out of wood ala Frank Klauzs.
It gets kind of scurky so I add a little bit of bleach once now and then clean out completely about once a month.

I like yours but I think you really need a lid to keep debris out.

Is that going to be rigid enough?

You beat me to the Frank Klaus suggestion! Did you also use Frank's method of making it watertight?
