    Cherry Platter

This platter is too big for my photo booth so I took it on the lawn. It is the largest I can make on my lathe without going to the outboard set-up. 19 1/2" with a Carnuba wax polish over minwax polyurethane.

Beautiful wood - for sure! Is the platter flat or is there a slight curve to it? How did you finish the bottom? Foot or no foot?

It is sort of dished with flat section in the middle with no real foot as such. I just put a gentle negative seep on the bottom to about 11/2 the diameter to make it a bit usable. Any suggestions other than a much bigger photo booth for taking pictures of this size object would be appreciated. Perhaps I should have put it on a small pedestal for the photo.
