Storing a Lathe

I am relocating my lathe and may want to keep in in unheated garage in Iowa with no insulation. I could cover the cast iron beds with grease but could possibly want to use it on nice days. I know the garage gets lots of dew on other items as the temp rises and falls so I would keep it covered when not in use with some tarps. I use the tarps by HTC that seem really good but I've never tested them to this extreme.

Is this doable or should I look for a different location to store the lathe and tools?

I haven't personally tried it, but I've heard good things about these people, some of the motorcycle or ATV covers supposedly work well.
