They've been doing betas for about 2-3 months. But very small number and very little posted. I still think they are going to miss shipping. But I don't wish ill will. Hope they will include fire extinguisher with each one.

    That's a pro:

"We're definitely going to have public beta users outside of Seattle - but for now, we have so many great applicants in Seattle, that it's better to start here. It lets us do stuff like have them by the office, drive over to troubleshoot problems in situ, etc."

Since April (7 months). Of course beta testers are a small number, that's how that works. There has been very little posted because the testers sign NDAs.

I still think they are going to miss shipping. But I don't wish ill will. Hope they will include fire extinguisher with each one.

I'd be quite surprised if they can actually ship what they've promised by end of the year.
Like I've said earlier, sounded really good initially... until you research lasers a bit.

Specific shipping dates will be released on Friday.

The sad part about it, the people who started the Glowforge project are very well known and respected in the CNC world. I think someone mislead them and sold them on a project they knew nothing about....

"Hey, I have an idea that will bring in millions from a bunch of suckers, best of all, we won't actually produce anything usable and we'll blame it on vendors or suppliers, or something", "sounds great, where do I sign up?" - pretty much the conversation that started Glowforge...
