Hook and loop replacement

I have a Ridgid Ro 6" sander that the hooks are worn out. Any way to replace without buying a new pad from parts, somewhere about $43.00 plus shipping?

I saw that to but I must have 2610 model because it is held on with only one bolt in the middle.

Maybe this would work, look under "F" http://www.leevalley.com/en/wood/pag...,42500&p=59471 , you could use either carpet tape or spray adhesive to put it onto your worn out platen.

Your Ridgid 2610 is a Metabo SXE450 in orange clothing (I have one and love it).

I bought a repair/conversion kit from Lowes with two sheets of hook material and a tube of glue. I repaired two sanders with it several years ago and both are holding up fine. The glue that was supplied has held up much better than I expected, and I use both sanders frequently. Still no problems at all with either repair.

I have replaced the pad on my Bosch sander several times, last time from Klingspor's. They recommend a pad that attaches to your hook pad, and has hooks on the other side, and you attach your discs to it. Cheaper than your part, and keeps you from wearing out the hooks on your original. Problem is, the add on pad also wears out, but costs 15.95 plus shipping for a 5".

I repaired a PC by replacing the foam using one of those hard foam exercise blocks. Cut a slice on the bandsaw the appropriate thickness then cut out a round disk. Then glued that to the original hard plastic disk used for mounting. Then contact cemented some hook material to the foam and drilled out the dust holes. Seems to work fine and I made several extras for almost no cost. I got the foam cheap somewhere like Goodwill.
