Thread: need to pick the right bandsaw

need to pick the right bandsaw

I want to resaw 4" to 12" and some 14" wide softwood. Some hardwood would also go thru it. I see the Grizzly G0513ANV - 17" 2 HP for the low end but there are a few more that are under $1,500.00. Any comments? Thanks in advance!

What's YOUR price range? And are you only looking to resaw "some" wood, i.e. this is pretty much a one time use, or is this going to be a lifetime tool?

I have the G0513ANV and really like it, easy to use and the price is right. Dust collection is very good if you use both ports; it' worthless if you only use one.

I only occasionally use it for resawing and it works OK - occasional tracking problems with hard maple but that's probably due more to not taking the time to tune it than an issue with the saw. You'd definitely need the resaw fence from Grizzly (or build your own) for tall stock.

I got this http://www.jettools.com/us/en/p/jwbs...4hp-1ph/714500 several months ago and it seems real good. Have not done a great deal on it yet in fack got the Laguna resaw blade and have not even installed it yet.

all my tools are my lifetime as of today! never sure about tomorrow. I have a 14" delta for radius cuts but I need to run about 5mbf of 3/4, 4/4 and 6/4 redwood. I've been looking at other posts about band saws and I think $1,000.00 to $1,500.00 is my range.

I have the G0513ANV book marked. I like the description they give and the price seems ok. I will resaw mostly redwood and fir but I've got hardwood in my storage area that can be sawn.

the tool supply house is a jet dealer. I look at the specs and compare to grizzly and grizzly wins when $$ is the big issue.
