Passing of Harry L. Strasil, Jr.

In my local paper today is an obituary for Harry Strasil, Jr. He passed away on Feb. 18, 2016. More info is available at http://www.dorrandclark.com/notices/Harry-StrasilJr.

I hope I don't offend anyone by posting this, but I know Junior was a member of this forum and many people on here knew him. I only met him once at an event in Kansas City and he was a wealth of information.

That is sad news. Harry was a great inspiration for many of us and always happy to teach and help anyone who asked. He will be greatly missed.
    RIP

In earlier days of SMC, Harry was, indeed, one of the more interesting knowledgeable characters and I use that term respectfully!

    RIP Harry!

I am so sorry to hear that. I have a set of his hold downs, the man knew his business.

I am sorry to hear that too. Harry and I were friends. We spent a good deal of time talking on the telephone.

Harry was one of the good ones-knew a lot and always willing to share. Through the years when he was actively posting he never was anything but a gentleman. RIP old friend.

Harry, I barely knew you. May you rest in piece.

When a man like Junior leaves us it is like losing a reference library.

I have a sawbench that was built per Harry's design almost 10 years ago. It is still going strong. I have missed his threads and I find it sad that there will never be another. Rest in peace, Harry.
